Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector in Redondo Beach, CA seeks a Flight Inspector (Level 2 or Level 3) for 100% onsite work. You will perform 1st article, in-process, and final inspections on machined or composite parts, reading GD&T, and using micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators to ensure conformity.

The role requires strong blueprint interpretation, experience with inspection equipment, and the ability to interface with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Read, interpret and communicate blueprints, specs, and other technical documents.
• Experience with inspecting and generating discrepancy reports, composite fabrication or inspection, assembly structure inspection, proof load testing, vibration testing, and/or interfacing with customers.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Performs analysis and tests of raw materials, packaging materials, and/or finished products to ensure quality standards.
• Performs qualitative tests or qualitative assays and maintains test instruments to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepares and monitors quality statistics and reports.
• Reviews production records for conformance to procedures and conducts non-conformance tests.
