Job summary

Astronics CSC in Illinois is seeking an Inspector to ensure First Article Inspection compliance per AS9102 and to drive adherence to the Quality Management System across the supply chain.

You will measure parts, document results, prepare FAIRs, communicate findings, and support production with reliable inspection data. Knowledge of calipers, micrometers, and basic statistical techniques is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 year in a manufacturing environment.
• Read and understand process documents and industry standards.
• Team Player with good written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to shift/assess/manage priorities as required/needed
• Attention to detail and accuracy a must.
• Must understand basic math skills, including fractions, decimals and basic statistical techniques.
• Basic computer skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and cable & wire drawings.

Responsibilities

• Measure parts according to drawings, prints or applicable specifications.
• Fill out the applicable forms and templates with inspection results.
• Gather the applicable documentation as evidence of the FAI.
• Create the package to communicate results of the FAI to involved parties.
• Communicate the work via applicable channels (customer websites, network folders, email).
• Escalate discrepancies through the channels and contact persons.
