Job summary

Astronics PECO in Clackamas, Oregon, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize finishing operations, improve quality, and drive efficiency in coatings and finishing processes used in aerospace and defense applications.

You will analyze processes, implement lean practices, maintain documentation, and collaborate with design, operations, and supply chain to ensure on-time delivery and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Two or more years of related experience or training.
  • Experience with finishing and coatings in aerospace/military contexts preferred.
  • Knowledge of Paint, Chromate, and masking is a plus.
  • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and optimize finishing area processes to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, minimize waste, and improve quality.
  • Determine and implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support Operations by removing production obstacles and solving problems.
  • Maintain documentation of processes, troubleshooting procedures, and improvements.
  • Develop and maintain bills of materials and manufacturing plans.
  • Collaborate with design and development teams on manufacturability and feasibility.
  • Lead activities across functions to support on-time delivery and quality.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure proper lead-times and stock levels.
