Job summary

Raytheon in Huntsville, AL seeks a Thermal Analyst I to ensure structural and thermal design robustness across products. You will perform analyses from concept to fielded systems using classical, empirical and finite element methods with industry tools, complemented by tests to ensure cost-effective, balanced solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) by start date.
• Experience with FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA, ANSYS or equivalent.
• Experience applying mechanical principles to solve thermal problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations and determine requirements for higher order detailed analysis.
• Perform detailed thermal analyses to solve program thermal design challenges.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to requirements.
• Support test setup and execution, analyze test data, correlate and validate thermal models.
• Work with experienced engineers on problems of moderate complexity to provide solutions within program cost and schedule constraints.
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews ensuring technical accuracy of work product.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Generate detailed, archival technical reports.
