Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking an Architectural Designer to translate engineering and production requirements into executable plans, manage campus maps and building drawings, and collaborate with elite engineers to design and activate infrastructure for orbital launch capability.

You will work with a team across disciplines, produce construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD, review layouts, and coordinate permit processes with the City of Hawthorne.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in architecture or related field preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience creating architectural construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify preliminary equipment layouts based on customer input.
• Produce documents to assist with securing construction contractor bids.
• Create as-built documents for projects after completion of construction.
• Integrate 3rd party vendor drawings into existing building drawing sets.
• Convert files from Teamcenter, Sketch-up, Revu Bluebeam, PDF, or others into Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform feasibility assessments of proposed projects from architectural, fire/life safety, structural, and MEP standpoint.
• Provide baseline preconstruction services, including preliminary budget estimates/schedules.
• Liaise end user project requests with external design consultants and internal construction/facilities groups.
• Steer external design consultants towards completed construction plan sets for execution.
• Coordinate permit acquisition/closeout with the City of Hawthorne.
