Job summary

Advanced Integration Technology in New Baltimore, Michigan is seeking a Fitter to assemble structural frameworks and housings from raw materials. You will prepare and fabricate metal components for the welding process, following blueprints and specifications.

The role requires reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and operating fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses.

Qualifications

• Associates or technical-school trained required.
• Minimum one year of related experience or training.
• Reads and understands blueprints, schematics, and measuring devices.
• Follows processes and standard procedures.

Responsibilities

• Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications with measuring tools.
• Align and fit parts using jacks, wedges, and clamps.
• Operate fabricating machines to bend, cut, form, punch or assemble metal components.
• Position or tighten braces and parts for welding or riveting.
• Chip or grind excess welds and spatter.
• Review parts from kit area and compare to print.
• Fabricate and revise fixtures, jigs, and gauges.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, grinders, torches, hand tools, and measuring devices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
