Job summary

The Judge Group seeks a Vice President of Engineering in Austin to lead the engineering organization and directly manage project execution. The role oversees a fully staffed team driving product development, system integration, sustaining engineering, and disciplined program execution.

Responsibilities include managing schedules and budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance (UL/MIL-STD/DO-160), and collaborating with Operations and Quality to ensure manufacturability. ITAR access may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required or related technical field.
• Minimum of 10 years engineering leadership experience in aerospace/defense or electromechanical environments.
• Proven track record managing projects and programs and delivering complex products on schedule.
• Ability to obtain access to ITAR-controlled information and technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the engineering organization and oversee project and program execution.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, test, and network engineering.
• Oversee product lifecycle from concept to sustainment and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Own program schedules, budgets, risks, milestones, and cross-functional coordination.
• Improve engineering processes, design controls, and execution methodologies.
• Collaborate with Operations and Quality to ensure manufacturability and compliance.
• Support customer engagements and proposals with technical leadership.
