Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems is seeking a 2nd Shift Engineering lead to provide real-time support for manufacturing, assembly, quality and operations. You will guide the evaluation and disposition of issues, establish priorities, and coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines to deliver robust, producible solutions.

The role requires a ABET-accredited engineering degree and 10+ years of experience, with strong communication and executive presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent
• 10+ years of engineering experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong presentation skills
• Strong emotional intelligence and professional presence to engage with executives

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the 2nd Shift Engineering team providing real-time support across site operations
• Provide strategic and technical leadership for evaluation and disposition of nonconforming conditions and production issues while ensuring compliance
• Establish priorities and allocate engineering resources to support production schedules and program milestones
• Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Design Engineering, Stress Engineering, Materials & Processes, Supply Chain and Program leadership to develop producible solutions
• Drive timely engineering response to minimize production disruption and defects
