Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. is seeking a 2nd Shift Engineering Lead to manage the 2nd Shift Engineering team across manufacturing, assembly, quality and operations at our Wichita site.

You will provide strategic and technical leadership for nonconforming conditions, production issues, and engineering deviations while ensuring compliance with engineering requirements and regulatory standards. The role offers a competitive pay range and Kansas tax credit considerations where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent international accreditation.
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong emotional intelligence and ability to interact with company executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the 2nd Shift Engineering team across manufacturing, assembly, quality, and operations.
• Provide strategic and technical leadership for evaluation and disposition of nonconforming conditions, production issues, and deviations.
• Establish priorities and allocate resources to support production schedules and program milestones.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Design Engineering, and other functions to develop producible solutions to complex manufacturing challenges.
• Drive timely engineering responses to minimize production disruption and defects.
