Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Aerospace Engineer for our Goleta, CA office to support design and manufacturing of cutting edge space products. This on-site, permanent role requires leadership across the full lifecycle with a focus on systems engineering and verification used in spacecraft development.

Responsibilities include leading design reviews, developing system-level requirements and test procedures, ensuring traceability, and collaborating with program management to meet customer expectations.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years in full product lifecycle development.
• Proven systems-level engineering experience with team leadership.
• Experience with PDM Pro, SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation, Thermal Desktop, NASTRAN or ANSYS.
• Familiarity with GSFC-STD-7000A, AIAA S-114-2005, NASA-STD-5017, MMPDS and similar.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Lead design reviews and develop or review verification plans, validation procedures, and customer acceptance test procedures.
• Develop system-level requirements, verification procedures, and compliance documentation for spacecraft.
• Ensure requirements traceability and verification through successful test execution.
• Participate in or lead non-conformance investigations.
• Partner with program management to ensure project execution aligns with customer expectations and internal guidelines.
• Control project costs through effective resource planning and close management of system-level decisions.
• Lead and manage technical teams, ensuring successful delivery of projects.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in full product lifecycle development.
• Proven systems-level engineering experience and prior leadership of technical teams.
• Experience with PDM Pro, SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation, Thermal Desktop, NASTRAN, or ANSYS.
• Familiarity with aerospace standards such as GSFC-STD-7000A (GEVS), AIAA S-114-2005, NASA-STD-5017, MMPDS, and similar.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
