Job summary

Impact Solutions in the Greater Milwaukee area seeks an Electronics R&D Technician for prototype work and hardware test in an aerospace/defense lab environment. You will perform fine-pitch PCB assembly, SMT rework, board bring-up, and fault isolation on complex multi-layer PCBs.

This is a direct-hire, 1st shift role with minimal travel. You will read schematics, use oscilloscopes and test equipment, verify BOMs, and help calibrate lab gear, contributing to high-reliability systems used in

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Electronics/EET or 6+ years of bench depth required.
• High proficiency in PCB population and fine-pitch rework.
• Ability to read and trace complex schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers for fault isolation.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, modify, and rework prototype PCBs.
• Conduct initial board bring-up and diagnostics with hardware design engineers.
• Troubleshoot component-level and wiring faults on boards and assemblies.
• Assist with BOM verifications and calibration/maintenance of lab equipment.
• Generate lab documentation, test reports, and engineering data logs (AS9100/defense).
