Job summary

Leidos Defense Sector Manufacturing Space Hardware Systems in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our space hardware team. The role supports the assembly, integration, and testing of complex aerospace structures for DoD and government programs.

The candidate will work with design and manufacturing engineers to develop build strategies, read and interpret drawings, and ensure proper documentation and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with aerospace manufacturing experience.
• Ability to use power and hand tools and learn integration of large structures for aerospace/DoD.
• Must be able to read drawings, specs, and work instructions.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs and operate PPE.
• Strong communication to collaborate with design, manufacturing, and QA.

Responsibilities

• Document training records with signatures from Lead/Manager.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to build strategies and identify issues.
• Know tools for assembly, testing, and data collection, and how to use them.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings and shop instructions.
• Monitor inventory and supplies for proper usage.
• Explain processes and quality procedures to junior team members.
• Communicate quality issues to supervisors and QA teams.
• Assist in developing bills of materials and labor cost estimates.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with company policies.
