Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an Electrical Systems Integration and Manufacturing Engineer at Kennedy Space Center, Florida to plan and author procedures for the Orion Spacecraft Elements Team and provide floor support for mechanical and electrical integration environments.

The role involves reviewing engineering drawings, ensuring DFMA practices, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating across programs to deliver high‑quality hardware on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical or Manufacturing; 5+ years of experience.
  • Maintain a positive, collaborative attitude and contribute to a constructive workplace culture.
  • Perform duties with competence, reliability, and quality focus.
  • Knowledge of production manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of Design For Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFMA).
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and providing technical feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and authors procedures for the Orion Spacecraft Elements Team and provides floor support for a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Determines the sequence of build, selects or designs tools, and solves production problems during the build.
  • Review, provide feedback and sign off on Engineering Drawings and CAD models.
  • Manages time effectively and can work independently.
  • Troubleshoot and correct anomalies with discrepant hardware.
  • Communicate effectively and report project status to leadership.
  • Mentor lower level ME’s and support/lead training and onboarding efforts.
  • Find and champion process improvement efforts.
  • Primarily supporting 1st shift with a 6am start time; may support 2nd/weekend shifts as needed.
