Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Indianapolis, Indiana, seeks an Electrical Systems Design Engineer to cover the full lifecycle from architecture to production for airworthy electronic engine controllers and monitoring systems.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to capture requirements, design hardware, and validate through testing, ensuring safety and security considerations are integrated throughout the development process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, software, controls, or systems and/or related degree.
• Graduation between December 2026 and August 2027; Minimum GPA 3.0.
• Work authorization: U.S. citizen required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with systems teams and customers to capture requirements for electrical components and hardware.
• Architect, design, develop electrical hardware products through testing, diagnosing, and inspection.
• Deliver a compliant sub-system level solution for R&D programs.
• Identify and manage technical, cost, supply chain, and timescale risks; integrate in project plan.
• Design for functional safety and security in aerospace environments.
• Experience with EMI testing and environmental testing practices.
