Job summary
PDS Tech Commercial seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to design, analyze, integrate, and support production for advanced aircraft electrical systems and cabin interiors. You will work on wiring diagrams, ELA, and system-level interfaces, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet customer, quality, cost, certification, and schedule requirements.
The role involves using Capital Harness(CHS/XC), AutoCAD, and CATIA V5, while applying EWIS standards to ensure compliance and safety across
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in a specific technical discipline or 10 years across multiple disciplines
- Strong technical background in electrical design and engineering
- Experience with aircraft electrical system design, analysis, integration
- Proficiency with system-level aircraft wiring diagrams and schematics
- Experience using electrical design tools such as Capital Harness, AutoCAD, or similar 2D software
- Ability to perform system-level Electrical Load Analysis (ELA)
- Ability to interpret and develop technical and test specifications
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and support electrical engineering projects
- Design and develop new and derivative aircraft interior furnishings and amenities
- Develop and review system-level wire diagrams and schematics for aircraft electrical systems
- Support electrical system integration involving avionics, lighting, and A/V systems
- Perform Electrical Load Analysis (ELA) at the system level
- Develop, interpret, and validate technical and test specifications
- Apply electrical design standards to meet manufacturing, quality, customer, and schedule requirements
- Utilize Capital Harness (CHS/XC), AutoCAD, CATIA V5 and similar tools
- Apply 14 CFR Part 25 Subpart H EWIS requirements to design
- Provide specialized technical assistance and guidance to team members
- Develop technical solutions using advanced engineering principles
- Make technical decisions and provide leadership recommendations
- Act as a technical liaison with external representatives
- Identify improved methods to optimize technical performance, cost, and schedule
- Develop standards and engineering guides
- Support continuous improvement and ensure customer requirements
- Maintain knowledge of developments in aircraft electrical systems
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
