You will be responsible for coordinating all technical activities on assigned projects related to electrical systems, or actuation systems within aircraft programs. This role involves planning, scheduling, and executing engineering work while ensuring compliance with airframe requirements, IFE supplier specifications, customer expectations, and established industry standards. The engineer will also serve as a key point of communication across disciplines, ensuring alignment between engineering, program management, certification, suppliers, and customer stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of electrical design and integration of electronics.
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, project managers, and certification teams to ensure successful product delivery.
- Plan, track, and report on engineering tasks, providing regular updates to program and engineering management.
- Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) based on vendor documentation and testing hardware.
- Perform grounding and bonding calculations, including resistance analysis of electrical components and ground paths.
- Conduct root cause analysis for MRB (Material Review Board) issues and present corrective solutions.
- Interface with external suppliers to support design, integration, and compliance activities.
- Participate in technical discussions with international teams to address manufacturing challenges and propose innovative solutions.
- Apply knowledge of OEMs regulatory requirements and manage projects with diverse configuration needs.
- Create electrical schematics and block diagrams from vendor drawings and specifications.
- Support purchasing and production through bills of materials and documentation for sourcing and integration.
- Address customer concerns and implement design changes in compliance with regulations and program requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 3–7 years of experience in electrical design, integration, and certification within aircraft interiors.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft manufacturing processes and documentation systems (CMM, SB, configuration control).
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 (including electrical/wire routing modules) or similar CAD tools.
- Experience with PLM systems such as Teamcenter, Enovia, or Agile.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; multicultural experience is an advantage.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with software programming and configuration control is a plus.
