Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Detail-oriented engineer to own dimensional integrity for an investment casting portfolio. You will design tooling, fixtures, gauges, and dimensional inspection plans to meet customer requirements.

The role includes leading continuous improvement to cut costs and scrap, and driving process efficiency across manufacturing. You will investigate root causes of escapes, prepare qualification packages, and participate in design reviews with customers.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled and will earn a bachelor’s degree before hire date.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
• Experience working in aerospace or investment casting is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure dimensional integrity of an assigned portfolio of investment cast parts and develop tooling, fixtures, gauges, and inspection plans.
• Lead continuous improvement to reduce costs, scrap and rework and improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Investigate root causes of external customer escapes and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and validate dimensional qualification packages to meet customer requirements.
• Conduct design reviews with customers to ensure production capability and compliance with BOMs and routings.
• Collaborate across functions to develop cost models for tooling and processes.
• Travel as needed to support projects and customer meetings.
