Job summary

SNC is seeking a Designer II to develop and refine complex designs, technical drawings, and 3D models for advanced aerospace and defense projects. You will lead design efforts, ensure adherence to standards, and mentor junior designers in a hybrid office setting.

Requirements include an Associates degree in Design or Drafting and 2+ years of aerospace experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA. Strong collaboration and regulatory awareness are essential.

Qualifications

Associates degree in Design, Drafting, or related field.
2+ years of experience in design or drafting within aerospace/defense.
Higher degree may substitute for experience.
Proficiency with CAD software and drafting standards.
Understanding of engineering principles and regulatory requirements.
Experience with multi-disciplinary design teams.

Responsibilities

Lead development of detailed designs, technical drawings, and 3D models for complex aerospace/defense projects.
Review and refine layouts, drawings, and models for accuracy and standards.
Identify and resolve design deficiencies and implement improvements.
Coordinate with engineers and project managers to meet specs and budget.
Prepare documentation and reports for design reviews and milestones.
Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance.
Ensure designs comply with regulatory and safety requirements.
Participate in design meetings and drive process improvements.
