Job summary

MOHR Talent is seeking multiple experienced Mechanical Engineers to join an aerospace and defense manufacturing operation in the Starkville, MS area. These hands-on roles support development and production of missile canisters, launcher systems, and precision-machined components.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, strong CNC machining and welding skills, and a background in production process development.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical, manufacturing, or process engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with CNC machining, welding, metal fabrication, and complex mechanical assemblies.
• Experience developing manufacturing processes, work instructions, production procedures, and BOMs.
• Working knowledge of mechanical design, tooling, fixtures, and production engineering.
• Experience interpreting drawings, blueprints, and technical specs for build-to-print manufacturing.
• Experience supporting NPI, production launches, and process improvements.
• Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize mechanical manufacturing processes and detailed work instructions for aerospace and defense components.
• Support manufacturing of missile canisters, launcher systems, and complex assemblies.
• Lead New Product Introduction activities including manufacturing readiness and ramp-up.
• Collaborate with CNC machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly teams to resolve engineering challenges.
• Develop and maintain BOMs, engineering docs, procedures, and production layouts.
• Review engineering drawings and build-to-print specifications for manufacturability.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvement across production lines.
