Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Configuration Management leader to oversee aerospace/defense project configurations and ensure high quality product data, BOMs, and drawings.

You will lead audits, manage change processes, mentor analysts, and collaborate with engineers, project managers, and executives to align CM activities with strategic goals.

A Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years in CM within aerospace/defense is required; PLM expertise and documented leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in configuration management or a related field within the aerospace and defense industry.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Expert proficiency with PLM systems and configuration management principles including ASME, EIA-649 and MIL-HDBK-61.
• Strong attention to detail and superior documentation skills.
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
• Ability to lead a team of Configuration Analysts.
• Thorough understanding of Documentation Control Database systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee configuration management for aerospace/defense projects to ensure quality.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of product data, BoMs, and drawings.
• Lead audits and verification of configurations for compliance with standards.
• Direct change management processes, evaluating and tracking complex changes.
• Mentor and lead a team of configuration analysts and provide technical guidance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to meet objectives.
• Maintain thorough CM records and drive process improvements.
