Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a skilled Composites Technician in Simi Valley, CA to support fabrication, bonding, and assembly of airframe structures for new aircraft programs. Expect hands-on layup, cure cycle execution, and bonded assembly in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

The role requires 3+ years in aerospace composite fabrication, proficiency with prepregs and wet layup, and the ability to read drawings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent technical certificate.
• 3+ years of hands-on composite fabrication in aerospace/defense/marine environments.
• Proficiency with wet layup and prepreg layup methods.
• Experience with vacuum bagging, debulking, and cure cycles.
• Experience with composite bonding and secondary assembly using structural adhesives.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, ply schedules, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs hand layup operations including wet layup, prepreg, and out of autoclave processes for airframe structures and components.
• Cuts, kits, and stages composite materials per ply schedules and drawings.
• Operates vacuum bagging systems, debulks laminates, and documents cure records for traceability.
• Runs autoclave/oven cure cycles and monitors process data for quality control.
• Performs demold, trim, drill, and finish operations on cured parts with composite tooling.
• Executes bonded assembly using aerospace-grade adhesives including co-cure and secondary bonding.
