Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Texas seeks an experienced Composite Machining Manufacturing Engineer to scale manufacturing for advanced aerospace structures. You will own carbon-fiber machining processes, programming for CNC and robotic cells, and tooling development to meet strict quality, cost, and schedule targets.

You will collaborate with Design Engineering to improve manufacturability, optimize process controls, and lead continuous improvement across CFRP machining.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Significant aerospace manufacturing experience with composite machining and CNC/robotic processes.
• Strong understanding of CFRP materials and machining challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of machining processes for aerospace composite components.
• Develop CNC and robotic machining programs and fixtures.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering for manufacturability improvements.
• Troubleshoot machining issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive CAPAs.
• Support production and continuous improvement of robotic machining cells (KUKA).
