Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Austin, Texas is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the Structures team in developing tooling, fixtures, and production equipment for large carbon fiber aerospace components.

You will drive process improvements, own hardware development, and partner with design, manufacturing, and quality to ensure on-time delivery and rigorous quality control. Two shifts available; 2nd shift 3pm–11:30pm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5 years experience in carbon fiber composite aerospace manufacturing.
• Proficiency with CAD software and tooling/fixturing design.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of tooling, fixtures, and production equipment for aerospace composites.
• Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures for efficiency and quality.
• Drive continuous improvements to increase capacity and reduce cycle times.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to integrate production processes.
