Aerospace Composite Lamination Technician

Job summary

HEICO is seeking a Composite Technician to produce parts and assemblies for aerospace and UAV programs at our Hood River facility. You will laminate composites, follow cure cycles, and inspect parts to ensure high quality and mold longevity.

You will read engineering drawings and specs, operate ovens and presses, and collaborate with engineering to improve layup processes while maintaining a clean, FOD-compliant environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience laminating advanced composite materials.
• Proficient with prepregs, resins, adhesives, and curing presses.
• Ability to read technical drawings and work instructions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Lamination using prepreg epoxy resins with carbon, fiberglass, Kevlar, or quartz fibers.
• Operate ovens and hydraulic presses per cure cycle specifications.
• Demold and inspect cured parts; prepare molds for next cycles.
• Cut and trim composite materials; assist in developing new patterns.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve lamination processes.
• Measure and mix resins and adhesives by weight/volume per specs.
• Maintain clean, organized, and FOD-compliant work area.
• Read and follow technical drawings, lamination schedules, and docs.
• Adhere to procedures, safety rules, and quality standards; report deviations.
