Job summary

HEICO seeks an entry-level Engineer I to develop and document technical data supporting repair activities for aviation/MRO. This role is ideal for a new graduate or an engineer new to the field.

You will create repair instructions, substantiate technical data, and reverse-engineer parts using measuring tools and CAD tools. Collaboration with customers, DERs, and the FAA is essential to obtain approvals for major repairs.

Qualifications

• Four-year accredited engineering degree (AE, ME, or equivalent) required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, reports, and regulatory documents.
• Clear written and oral technical communication skills for all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of 14 CFR parts 23, 25, 43, 65, 145 and related repair processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop repair instructions in accordance with procedures and specifications.
• Develop substantiating technical data per procedures and regulations.
• Use measuring tools and gages to reverse engineer parts.
• Use XRF Gun and hardness tester to determine alloys and hardness.
• Create drawings and figures for repair instructions.
• Document tool/equipment/material/process equivalencies to support repairs.
• Communicate with customers and stakeholders to determine needs and design repair solutions.
• Coordinate with DERs and FAA to obtain approvals for major repairs.
