Job summary

Wencor Group LLC is seeking an entry-level Engineer I to develop repair data and documentation for aviation repair activities. This role requires a four-year engineering degree and involves reverse engineering with measuring tools, XRF/hardness testing, and creating repair drawings.

The position emphasizes communication with customers, DERs, and FAA for major repairs, and familiarity with 14 CFR regulations and common repair processes.

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering degree (AE/ME or equivalent) required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
• Knowledge of 14 CFR parts 23, 25, 43, 65, 145.
• Understanding of repair processes including plating, NDT, machining/grinding, welding; metallurgy knowledge helpful.

Responsibilities

• Develop repair instructions per engineering procedures and industry specs.
• Develop substantiating technical data per procedures and applicable regulations.
• Use measuring tools and gauges to reverse engineer parts.
• Use XRF gun and hardness tester to determine alloy and hardness.
• Create drawings and figures for repair instructions.
• Substantiate and document tool/equipment/material/process equivalencies.
• Communicate with customers to determine needs and design repair solutions.
• Coordinate with DERs and the FAA for major repairs approvals.
