Job summary

HEICO Repair Group Aerostructures, LLC is seeking an Engineer to evaluate damaged aircraft components and design FAA-approved repairs for nacelles, thrust reversers, control surfaces, and radomes. You will generate drawings, instructions, and reports, and substantiate repairs with data and analysis.

Collaborating with engineers, Quality Control, and production teams, you will ensure airworthiness and regulatory compliance while leading root cause analyses and contributing to new repair

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write in English.
  • Experience with CAD software.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and processes preferred.
  • Experience with OEM manuals preferred.
  • Understanding of materials, stress analysis, and repair design principles.
  • Knowledge of composite repair methods preferred.
  • Must have strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Must be able to manage different projects at a time and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate damaged aircraft components and determine repair feasibility
  • Develop repair solutions, including drawings, instructions, and reports
  • Perform analysis to substantiate repairs
  • Generate and compile data for FAA approval
  • Interpret OEM manuals, engineering drawings, and certification requirements
  • Lead root cause analysis and failure investigations
  • Ensure all repairs comply with company procedures and FAA regulations
  • Support improvement and develop new repair procedures
