FMI Aerostructures, a leading aerospace parts manufacturer in the United States, is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our 5-axis machining team in California. You will write and optimize programs, review drawings, and work with engineering to ensure manufacturability.

Candidates must have 5 years CNC programming, CATIA V5 proficiency, and experience with titanium, Inconel, aluminum, and stainless steels.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience.
• Experience programming 5-axis vertical and horizontal mills.
• Knowledge of high-temp alloys: Titanium, Inconel, Aluminum, Stainless Steel.
• Proficient in CATIA V5 and 3D solid modeling.
• ITAR requires U.S. person status.

Responsabilités

• Write, develop, and edit CNC programs with continuous improvements.
• Plan machining operations by reviewing work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, and GD&T.
• Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing to resolve manufacturability issues.
• Create programming instructions including zero points, reference points, tool offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculate requirements.
• Analyze drawings to determine correct part dimensions, tool selection, speeds, and feeds.
• Occasionally set up and operate CNC equipment as needed.
• Maintain specifications by inspecting drilling, grooving, turning, knurling, and threading operations; troubleshoot and reprogram as needed.
• Use micrometers, calipers, fixtures and gauges for detailed inspection.
• Read gauges to verify dimensions within tolerances.
• Perform quality control tests during manufacturing and on the final product.
