Job summary

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, seeks a CNC Machinist to operate and program CNC VMC equipment in Chula Vista, CA. You will read blueprints and CMMs, set up machines, and produce tooling and production parts to exact tolerances.

You will work a day shift in an onsite role, with responsibilities including maintaining tool paths, setup, and collaboration to ensure quality and efficiency in a regulated aerospace shop.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree or 2-year post high school training with 4+ years of machining experience, or HS diploma/GED with 6+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan the sequence of progressive operations from blueprints, sketches and routing.
• Determine operation sequences to minimize machining on CNC VMC.
• Set up VMC and secure work, adjust tooling and aids.
• Determine tools, dimensions, tolerances, and feeds for efficient machining.
• May perform cutter preset tasks as required.
• Operate CNC VMC, drills, lathes and mills to produce parts.
• Keep work area clean and collaborate with others.
