Job summary

Woodward Inc. in Rockford, IL is hiring a Machinist for 2nd shift (M-Th: 3:20pm-1:50am) to support the TMU Machine in the Servo line. You will manufacture aerospace parts and components, operate multiple CNC or manual machines, and participate in training during the initial weeks.

Mandatory training for the first 2 weeks is 7am-3:30pm, then training week 3 moves to 3:20pm-1:50am. This role emphasizes quality, safety, and lean practices in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of CNC machining experience
• Basic Mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer skills (email, data entry, etc.)
• Knowledge and ability to read and interpret blueprints

Responsibilities

• Operates CNC or manual machines to produce precision metal parts per specs.
• Follows detailed work instructions and interprets engineering drawings with basic GD&T knowledge.
• Performs first piece inspections and records data per SOP.
• Maintains 5S principles and cleanliness, supports continuous improvement.
