Job summary

Sigma Design in Hood River, OR is seeking a CNC Machinist/Programmer to create and optimize Mastercam programs for primarily 3-axis milling, with occasional 5-axis work. You will interpret drawings, select tools, set speeds and feeds, and ensure quality per tolerances.

Some CMM programming may be a plus, and candidates must pass background checks. The role offers full-time employment with comprehensive benefits and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Machining Technology or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of Mastercam experience with 3-axis programming required.
• Excellent knowledge of G-code required.
• Experience with CMM programming/operation preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for long periods; PPE required.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and store CNC programs using Mastercam for 3-axis milling.
• Analyze drawings to determine tooling, speeds, and feeds.
• Verify programs against CAD models before production.
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with supervision.
• Prepare setup and tooling documents; support operators on the shop floor.
