Job summary

Leapspace is seeking a Machine Shop Technician in Colorado to turn raw stock and metal 3D-printed blanks into finished, inspected hardware for both development builds and flight articles. You will program 5-axis CNCs with Siemens NX, operate Wire EDM, Waterjet, milling, lathes, and laser cutting, and ensure strict documentation and traceability throughout the process.

Qualifications

• Set up and operate Wire EDM, Waterjet, mill, lathe, and laser cutting equipment; program 5-axis machining using Siemens NX; machine metal 3D-printed parts with post-processing.
• Proficiency programming 5-axis CNC using Siemens NX.
• Working knowledge of QA/inspection processes and metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
• Experience machining metal 3D-printed parts.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience supporting prototype/development and flight-certified production hardware.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-accountability shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Machine metal additive manufactured parts with post-processing.
• Produce finished, print-conforming components for development and flight builds.
• Maintain travelers, work records, and inspection documentation to ensure traceability.
• Ensure parts meet GD&T tolerances and surface finish requirements.
• Flag dimensional or material nonconformances and escalate as needed.
