Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, invites applications for a Machinist at the Columbus Forge team in Columbus, GA. You will set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machining equipment to produce precision aerospace components in a 3rd shift role.

The position requires reading blueprints, selecting tooling, and performing dimensional inspections. You will collaborate with teammates to meet production goals while upholding safety and 6S standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNC Machining experience with Okuma and/or Fanuc controlled 4-Axis turning lathes.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Products.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines, lathes, and other machining equipment to manufacture precision aerospace components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and shop orders to determine machining requirements and select appropriate tooling.
• Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify product quality and ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot machine and process issues, perform routine equipment inspections, and support preventive maintenance activities to maximize uptime and productivity.
• Collect production data and collaborate with team members to support operational performance, continuous improvement, and production goals.
• Follow all safety, environmental, quality, and 6S standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
