Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret part and tool drawings accurately.
• Proficient use of precision measurement tools for quality verification.
• Familiarity with CNC concepts and machine code for setup and operation.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret part and tool drawings as they apply to parts or tooling.
• Use micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, scales and gauges for quality checks.
• Inspect units and tooling after machining for conformance to specs.
• Understand five-axis motion and interpret axial tool movement per machine code.
• Check machine alignment and perform first article runs.
• Set up Tombstones, fixtures, and tools, ensuring they are clean and sharp.
• Verify cutting tools for correct length and diameter; ensure no dull tools.
• Learn machine code and use MDI to control the tool during setup.
• Proof programs for parts or tooling with supervision as needed.
• Operate equipment to produce quality parts and support CNC programmers.
• Read and follow Setup Sheets and Dimensional aids provided by supervisors.
