Job summary

Vital Engineered Components Company is seeking a detail-oriented CMM Operator to join our Quality Department in Sterling Heights, MI. This full-time role involves operating and programming CMMs to measure precision parts, reading CAD data, and maintaining measurement accuracy with micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.

The position requires strong arithmetic, ability to follow instructions, and stamina to stand and lift up to 50 pounds with PPE.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
Ability to read and interpret general drawings, schematics and CAD models.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic with varying units.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Willingness to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs with PPE.

Responsibilities

Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines to measure and inspect precision parts under supervision.
Use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges and other precision instruments.
Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD models for measurements.
Perform dimensional inspections to ensure specifications.
Record and analyze measurement data using computer software.
Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues.
Maintain and calibrate measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.
