Job summary

Boeing’s Graduate Researcher Program in Engineering & Technology Innovation invites PhD students to join a 10-12 week Aerodynamics Engineering internship in Huntington Beach, CA. The Aerosciences Group will mentor you as you develop CFD tools and apply advanced aerodynamic analysis to real flight challenges during Summer 2027.

You will work onsite, engage in mentorship, and have an opportunity for future full-time placement if mutually a fit.

Qualifications

• First-year PhD by July 2027.
• Pursuing PhD in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on Fluid Dynamics.
• Able to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2027.
• Background in CFD applications and code development (C, FORTRAN, C++).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team or individually.

Responsibilities

• Develop aerodynamic analysis tools and optimization processes to improve fidelity and reduce cycle time.
• Collaborate with CFD developer partners in Seattle and St. Louis to advance CFD prediction for laminar-turbulent transition.
