Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking an Aircraft Certification Engineer III in Englewood, CO to coordinate with FAA, DoD and foreign authorities, ensuring designs comply with applicable certification standards. You will lead certification activities, conduct design and reviews (PDR/CDR), manage regulatory interfaces, and navigate diverse challenges across air system programs in a hybrid work environment.

Candidates should have a strong aerospace background and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline; typically 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Higher education may substitute for relevant experience.
• Basic understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools.
• Basic awareness of the certification planning process (development of certification plans, certification basis, methods of compliance, compliance artifacts).
• Experience with MIL-HDBK-516 and/or FAA Certification Standards (14 CFR 23/25/27/29).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Primary interface with regulatory authorities.
• Provides project management of all certification activities.
• Assists in design and management reviews, including preparing and presenting (PDR, CDR).
• Navigate through the certification challenges and proposes courses of action.
• Reviews all supporting documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinates Military approvals.
• Provides guidance with respect to certification requirements to internal and external departments.

Education
