Job summary

Aptiv in California is seeking a dedicated Assembler to manufacture high-reliability cable assemblies and wire harnesses. You will perform precision soldering, crimping, wire termination, harness routing, and testing in a high-mix/low-volume setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 2+ years in cable-harness assembly in regulated environments, and ITAR compliance. Familiarity with IPC standards and J-STD-001 is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of complex cable-harness assembly experience in regulated manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Soldering experience required.
• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) due to ITAR requirements.
• J-STD-001 certification is a significant advantage; IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-A-610 workmanship standards required.
• English reading and writing proficiency to follow highly regulated work instructions.
• Systems familiarity with Google Workspace, ADP, and Syspro.

Responsibilities

• Build conforming cable and harness assemblies by following detailed instructions and blueprints.
• Perform precision assembly tasks including soldering, crimping, wire termination, and harness routing.
• Set up and operate manufacturing equipment and hand tools for assembly processes.
• Conduct electro-mechanical testing of subassemblies and final assemblies and maintain test reports.
• Perform approved rework on nonconforming products and resubmit for inspection.
