Job summary

Inversion is seeking a proactive Buyer/Planner to drive end-to-end purchasing and material planning for engineering materials and parts. You will collaborate with engineers to understand technical requirements, source competitive quotations, and manage the full PO lifecycle from requisition to delivery.

You will track orders, coordinate shipping, and forecast future procurement needs to support program schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience as a Buyer/Planner or similar procurement role.
• Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or hardware environments.
• Proficient in PO management, vendor sourcing, logistics, and inventory control.
• Ability to interpret engineering-driven procurement needs and delivery dates.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end purchasing and material planning for engineering materials and equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers to understand technical requirements and schedules.
• Source and evaluate supplier quotations for cost, lead time, and capability.
• Manage requisitions through PO placement with required approvals.
• Handle non-standard procurement including custom components.
• Track POs, supplier commitments, shipments, and deliveries.
• Coordinate shipping/receiving and maintain documentation.
• Develop material forecasts with engineering teams.
• Support inventory planning to balance stock levels.
• Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate terms.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead-time reductions.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and safety standards.
