Job summary

Inversion in Los Angeles is seeking a proactive Buyer/Planner to manage engineering material procurement, sourcing, and planning. You will partner with engineers to define requirements, evaluate suppliers, and ensure timely delivery of critical parts and custom hardware.

You will forecast needs, maintain records, and optimize supplier performance to support rapid development cycles in a high-stakes aerospace environment. This role requires in-office presence in Playa Vista, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field with relevant procurement exposure.
• 4+ years in Buyer/Planner or similar roles within hardware/engineering environments.
• Strong understanding of PO management, sourcing, logistics, and inventory control.
• Experience handling non-standard procurement, custom components, and complex supplier quotes.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end purchasing and material planning for engineering materials, parts, equipment, and custom hardware.
• Collaborate with engineers to define specs, quantities, and schedules for upcoming program needs.
• Source and evaluate supplier quotes, ensure competitive terms, and manage PO placement and approvals.
• Track orders, shipments, and supplier performance, resolving delays or quality issues.
• Forecast material needs in partnership with engineering teams to protect schedules.
