Job summary

GMRE is seeking a Buyer/Procurement Specialist to plan and execute purchases of materials, components, and services for defense and aerospace programs. You will own assigned procurements from requisition to receipt, balancing cost, schedule, quality, and compliance.

Work with Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Inventory, Finance, and PM to maintain material availability and audit-ready files. Requires 3+ years in purchasing; aerospace experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with aerospace/defense procurement and regulated environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with FAR/DFARS procurement, DPAS, ITAR/EAR controls, and CPSR expectations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review requisitions, BOMs and specifications before issuing orders.
• Issue RFIs/quotes; evaluate responses and document supplier selection basis.
• Negotiate terms to achieve best value within authority.
• Create and administer purchase orders in ERP/MRP; manage lifecycle from order to closeout.
• Identify and mitigate supplier risks and ensure compliance.
