Job summary

Hermeus is seeking a Build Reliability Engineer to own reliability across the vehicle lifecycle, partnering with design and manufacturing to implement robust quality plans, qualification testing, and root cause analysis.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing/quality/design engineering, CAD/GD&T proficiency, and experience with quality tools. On-site in El Segundo, CA with up to ~25% travel; salary range $120,000–$160,000 per year.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a recognized engineering field (mechanical, aerospace, materials, manufacturing, chemical, electrical, or engineering physics).
3+ years in manufacturing, quality, or design engineering.
Experience in a development environment.
Experience supporting production of complex mechanical/structural assemblies.
Knowledge of CAD and GD&T.
Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, PFMEA, control plans, and metrology.
Ability to attain security clearance.
On-site work in El Segundo, CA; able to travel ~25%.

Responsibilities

Partner with design engineering and manufacturing to create hardware quality plans.
Define inspection methods for components to standards.
Investigate manufacturing, test, and flight failures to identify root causes.
Document QMS requirements and work with IT/QMS software teams.
Support QMS policies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Own containment process for non-conforming product.
Develop and validate Lean test and inspection processes.
Ensure safety precautions per area planning standards.
Assist in closing nonconformance disposition and MRB resolution.
Provide engineer-level support to Inspectors and escalation path.
