Job summary

RTX is seeking a Bench Mechanic on 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:30pm-11:30pm) at our US site in Wells/North Berwick, ME. You will perform pre-coating surface prep, masking, deburring, grinding, and post-coating tasks on aerospace engine components, with training on dayshift for external candidates.

You may be eligible for overtime during training and for various benefits; strong attention to precision and safety is required.

Qualifications

0-1 years of related experience, or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field with 0-1+years related experience.
High School or GED

Responsibilities

Perform pre-coating operations including surface preparation and masking.
Perform post coating tasks such as removing parts from fixtures and masking.
Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning coating equipment and perform minor repairs.
Deburring, blending, polishing, countersinking, grinding, drilling or grit blast operations.
Perform Total Preventive Maintenance on applicable machines/equipment.
Check parts to meet visual and dimensional requirements using measuring tools.
Remove burrs, nicks, and scratches on parts from instructions.
Assist engineers in developing new or changed operations.
Suggest changes to improve operating parameters and processes.
