Job summary

Williams International is seeking a Bench Hand to support the production of gas turbine engines at our World Headquarters in Pontiac, MI. The role involves assembling parts, operating basic finishing equipment, and ensuring parts are clean and accurately documented.

Candidates should have 1–2 years of bench assembly experience, blueprint literacy, and be able to work the Afternoons or Nights shift. U.S. citizenship and potential clearance are required.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 1-2 years of bench assembly, turning, grinding, roller matched set sorting, and/or tape polishing experience.
• Riveting experience and familiarity with work automation is a plus.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret basic blueprint drawings.
• Able to work nights M-F from 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM (training on 1st shift).
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance if needed.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts using hand tools, measuring equipment, and gauges per planning instructions.
• Operate basic machining, grinding, and polishing equipment.
• Clean, deburr, and polish parts using precise cleaning processes.
• Visually inspect parts for burrs and damage.
• Package assemblies and parts for shipment or storage.
• Maintain proper identification and accurate records per specifications.
• Keep work area clean and organized to standard.
