Swarm Aero in Oxnard, CA is seeking an avionics enclosure design engineer to create enclosures and secondary structures for harsh environments, integrating avionics devices into the airframe and defining mechanical standards.

The role demands 3+ years in enclosure design for aerospace/defense, strong GD&T knowledge, and proficiency with CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks, Catia, Creo). US person status is required; security clearance is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of enclosure design experience on aerospace, defense, UAS or similar harsh environments.
• Familiarity with ASME 14.5 GD&T and aerospace standards.
• Proficiency with CAD tools: NX, SolidWorks, Catia, Creo.
• Experience with aluminum, copper, polymers, composites materials.
• Experience with CNC, laser, waterjet, bending or stamping processes.
• Experience with coatings/sealants in aerospace hardware.
• Experience taking components from design to hardware integration and test.
• US person status; active security clearance is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop avionics enclosures and secondary structure for harsh environments.
• Work with the mechanical team to mount avionics devices in the airframe.
• Define and implement mechanical design standards for avionics enclosures.
• Develop and maintain mechanical models, drawings, and ICDs using CAD tools.
• Collaborate with suppliers to improve manufacturability, cost and lead time.
• Support flight test anomaly investigations and root cause analysis on mechanical issues.
• Contribute to airworthiness documentation and flight authorization packages.
