Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a mechanical engineer to design flight-critical enclosures, chassis, and packaging for high-density assemblies including battery systems and electro‑optic payloads. You will collaborate with electrical engineers to optimize PCBA layout, wiring, thermal and grounding interfaces, and ensure designs meet stringent aerospace standards.

The role requires hands-on prototyping, 3D CAD mastery, and a track record of delivering reliable hardware for defense programs.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years in electronics packaging or electromechanical systems design.
• Direct experience designing hardware to MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-464/461.

Responsibilities

• Design flight-critical enclosures, chassis, and mechanical packaging for high-density assemblies and battery systems.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers on PCBA layout, connectors, harness routing, and thermal interfaces.
• Create 3D models, drawings, and GD&T with tolerance analyses for manufacturability.
• Conduct hand calculations and structural FEA with thermal and fatigue analysts.
• Design hardware to survive aerospace environments—vibration, shock, thermal extremes, EMI/EMC.
• Lead root-cause investigations and support design reviews (PDR/CDR) across cross‑functional teams.
