Job summary

Park Aerospace, based in Newton, MA, is seeking an Assistant Controller/Plant Controller to oversee month‑end close, AP/AR, payroll and GL. You will help develop systems and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with Park’s policies and regulatory requirements, and participate in special projects including BU support and acquisitions.

This is an onsite role requiring a B.S. in accounting or finance and at least five years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in aerospace

Qualifications

• S. Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Five or more years of progressive responsibility in accounting preferably in aerospace manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Corporate Controller in the daily banking requirements.
• Works with the Corporate Controller to ensure clean and timely audits.
• Assists with various consolidated internal reporting schedules on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
• Compile and maintain the global data base of customer credit information for the purpose of identifying potential changes to credit exposures, and monitor customer accounts receivable aging relative to established credit limits.
• Responsible for the monthly physical inventory process.
• Work with manufacturing operations to communicate and investigate manufacturing variances, maintain Bills of Materials and process inventory transactions.
• Assist with monitoring and analyzing department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Assists the accounting staff and other departments regarding the handling of non-routine transactions by researching and interpreting accounting policies, applying observations, and recommendations to operational issues.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations for the entire organization.
• Provides training to new and existing staff as needed, monitors progress and advocates for Park Aerospace's Culture.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
