Job summary

Bascom Hunter is seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician/Assembly Intern to support the assembly, integration, and testing of aerospace and defense products and systems in Phoenix/Glendale, AZ. The role involves working with engineers on mechanical and electrical assemblies, harnesses, and prototypes.

The internship offers full-time or part-time summer schedules, with opportunities for continued involvement based on project needs.

Qualifications

Pursuing a technical degree, certificate, or related education.
Strong interest in hands-on mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical work.
Ability to read and follow technical instructions and documentation.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Willingness to learn new assembly and testing techniques.

Responsibilities

Perform hands-on mechanical and electromechanical assembly of components, subassemblies, and systems.
Assemble products and prototypes using engineering drawings, work instructions, and schematics.
Use hand tools, power tools, measurement equipment safely and effectively.
Install and assemble mechanical hardware, electronic components, wiring, connectors, and related parts.
Support prototype builds, product integration, and development activities.
Support setup and execution of functional and environmental testing.
Document assembly activities and results; maintain organized work areas.
