Job summary

The Urban Foresters in Austin, TX seek a Tree Care Technician: Climber (Levels 1–4) to perform aerial tree work using climbing, rigging, and chainsaw techniques with emphasis on safety and structural canopy integrity.

Role requires physical stamina, regulatory knowledge, and certification readiness. The company offers comprehensive benefits and a strong development culture within Operations.

Qualifications

• Must lift 50+ lbs and maintain three points of contact at heights.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification and ANSI Z133 safety standards knowledge.
• Complete Aerial Rescue training module (even as trainee).
• Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Complete Saw Safety training (kickback, push, pull).
• Pass the Pre-Climber examination.

Responsibilities

• Execute precise aerial tree care and removals using climbing, rigging, and chainsaw techniques.
• Maintain awareness of DZ and ground crew, power lines, and obstacles.
• Inspect and perform basic maintenance on chainsaws, pruners, and climbing gear.
• Adhere to ANSI Z133 safety standards and local equivalents.
