Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC is seeking a Sensor Operator to capture high-quality geospatial data from small aircraft and helicopters. You will operate advanced aerial sensors and coordinate flights while ensuring data integrity across nationwide projects.

The role requires field connectivity, travel up to 21 days at a time, and the ability to work in remote locations with minimal supervision. FAA Part 107 is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience operating sensors or technical equipment in helicopter/small aircraft.
• Interest in aviation; candidates with flight hours or aviation training preferred.
• Good communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.
• Strong computer proficiency (Windows, MS Office, data handling).
• A passion for troubleshooting and problem-solving in the field.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and operate advanced technology; LiDAR experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently in remote environments.
• FAA Part 107 license a plus.
• Basic photography knowledge a plus.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company MVR standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate aerial sensors on small aircraft or helicopters.
• Coordinate daily flights with flight crew.
• Troubleshoot sensor issues in real time and perform preventive maintenance on sensor equipment.
• Conduct field data checks to ensure accurate, complete data collection.
• Travel up to 21 days at a time.
• Operate in remote locations across the United States with minimal supervision.
